October

10th Cave Hill Historical Walking Tour (Sunday) 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. $15 per person

Steve Wiser, AIA, a local architect and historian, will lead the historical walking tours of the cemetery.  He has written numerous books on Louisville history that feature the many residents of Cave Hill Cemetery and their accomplishments.  A 1 ½ hour walking tour through the meandering roadways of the historic sections of Cave Hill will reveal information about the history of the cemetery, its residents, and the works of art presented through the monuments.  Steve will also discuss the topography of the cemetery and explore the connections between the cemetery and state, local and national history.  

18th-19th (Monday-Tuesday) Chicago! Navy Pier and Miracle Mile $109. Includes transportation and overnight accommodations. R.S.V.P to Mattingly Tours (price is per person, double occupancy)

November

6th (Saturday) Locust Grove 561 Blankenbaker Lane $6 Adults, $3 Children. Meet at 9:45am for the 10am tour. The tour lasts about one hour tour. *Be aware: there are two flights of stairs. http://locustgrove.org/. We will go to Cunningham’s Creekside afterwards for lunch (around 11:30am). The restaurant is located in Harrod’s Creek at 6301 River Road. We have a reservation under CWA Gold Card Club (502-228-3625 for directions).

 

20th (Saturday) Thomas Edison House Tour at 729-731 Washington Street. $3 for Adults and Children. We will meet at 9:45am for our 10am tour. The tour lasts about 45 minutes. http://www.edisonhouse.org/ .We will go to Toast on Market at 736 E. Market Street afterwards for lunch. December

4th (Saturday) Glassworks at 815 W. Market. Meet at 10:45 for our 11am guided tour. Tour lasts about one hour. 13th-15th Biltmore House at Christmas and Pigeon Forge Shopping Trip. Includes transportation, overnight accommodations and two tours: Biltmore Candlelight Tour on the 13th and a Biltmore House Tour on the 14th! $259 per person, double occupancy (Mattingly Tours)

 

January

23rd (Sunday) Alpine Ice Arena at 1825 Gardiner Lane. Open rink ice skating from 2pm-6pm with a free lesson at 4pm. Cost $6 for adults, $5 for children 6 and under.
